Draft Profile: Bio
Jason Patterson led the state of Florida with 2,721 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns as a junior at Sneads High School and was a first-team SBLive All-State pick. He also played quarterback, free safety and linebacker, ran a 10.97 in the 100, and he averaged 12.2 points a game in basketball. A three-star recruit, he flipped from Cincinnati to Kentucky.

Patterson carried 20 times for 111 yards over four games in 2024, and an injury cut that season short. In 2025 he carried 57 times for 225 yards and a touchdown and caught 17 passes for 85 yards and a score. Mark Stoops said he had a lot of confidence in him.

Patterson has split carries with CJ Baxter this season, running 71 times for more than 440 yards and three touchdowns. He had his best game against South Alabama, with 137 yards and three scores on 12 carries, including a 75-yard touchdown. He has lost one fumble, against Alabama.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Ran for 137 yards and three touchdowns against South Alabama
  • Broke a 75-yard touchdown run in the South Alabama game
  • Gaining better than six yards per rush in 2026
  • Productive high school back who led Florida in rushing
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Lighter than most backs who carry a full workload
  • Coughed up a fumble in the Alabama game this season
  • Struggled in pass protection, allowing a sack this season
  • Oklahoma held him to 38 yards on 12 carries
  • Has never been a full-time starter at Kentucky
Scouting Report: Summary
Patterson is a productive, explosive runner who averages better than six yards per carry. He had a huge day against South Alabama, with 137 yards and three touchdowns.

However, he is light for a lead back, he has struggled in pass protection, and he has shared carries throughout his career. He also fumbled against Alabama.

Overall, Patterson is an efficient change-of-pace back. He projects as a priority free agent and has two years of eligibility to keep improving.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
