Mark Fletcher Jr. arrived at Miami as a consensus four-star recruit from American Heritage, where he won a state championship and earned MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honors while drawing offers from Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia. Leading the Hurricanes in carries as a true freshman despite missing three games, he earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors after a 100-yard outing against NC State.A sophomore season brought 607 rushing yards, second on the team, and nine touchdowns at 5.4 yards per carry while splitting work with Damien Martinez, including multi-touchdown games against Florida and Syracuse.
Handed the lead role in 2025, Fletcher rushed for 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns on 216 carries across 14 games, including a three-score day against Stanford. In the College Football Playoff he set a record with 507 postseason rushing yards: 172 yards on 17 carries against Texas A&M, an offensive MVP performance in the quarterfinal win over Ohio State, 133 yards against Ole Miss in the semifinal, and 112 yards with two touchdowns, one a 57-yard run, in Miami's 27-21 national championship loss to Indiana.
