Draft Profile: Bio
Dilin Jones was a two-time WCAC player of the year at Maryland's Good Counsel, rushing for more than 2,100 yards and 32 touchdowns across his junior and senior years. ESPN rated him the sixth-best running back among 2024 recruits; he also ran track and wrestled.

Jones began at Wisconsin, running 16 times for 88 yards in three games as a freshman and redshirting. He started seven times in 2025, running for 300 yards and two touchdowns before a turf toe injury against Ohio State needed surgery and cost him the last five games. He committed to LSU on 13 January 2026.

Jones has been LSU's lead back this season, with 667 yards and six touchdowns on 150 carries. He ran for 113 yards on 23 carries in the opening win over Clemson and for 106 yards and a score at Ole Miss, where he had a scare with a lower-leg injury but kept playing. He also caught seven passes for 84 yards at Kentucky.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Ran for 113 yards on 23 carries in the opening win over Clemson
  • Strong runner who has broken 39 tackles this season
  • Reliable receiver with 29 catches on 33 targets
  • Caught seven passes for 84 yards in the game at Kentucky
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Turf toe surgery ended his 2025 season early
  • Kentucky held him to 56 yards on 16 carries
  • Few long runs, with a season-long gain of 46 yards
  • Allowed five pressures in pass protection this season
  • Two more seasons of eligibility could keep him at LSU
Scouting Report: Summary
Jones has given LSU a reliable lead back after transferring from Wisconsin. He runs with power and balance, breaks tackles and catches the ball well, as his 113 yards against Clemson and seven catches at Kentucky showed.

However, he lacks breakaway speed, with few long runs this season, and he has given up five pressures as a blocker. His turf toe surgery in 2025 is also a concern for a running back.

Overall, Jones is a tough, productive three-down back with average explosiveness. He projects as a priority free agent with the option of returning to LSU.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
