Deion Jones was born on November 4, 1994 in New Orleans, played college football at LSU, and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round, 52nd overall, in 2016. He started 13 games as a rookie, led the team with 108 combined tackles, and returned two of his three interceptions for touchdowns, one a 90-yard return of a Drew Brees pass at New Orleans on September 26, 2016. His 165 interception-return yards led the NFL, and Madden NFL 17 listed him at 71 for that season.
Atlanta reached Super Bowl LI that year, and Jones had nine combined tackles, a forced fumble and a pass defensed in the 34-28 overtime loss to New England. He was named to the Pro Bowl after the 2017 season, when he made 138 tackles and three interceptions. Madden NFL 19 rated him 90 for 2018, a year an injury held him to six games. He started all 16 games in 2019, 2020 and 2021, and Madden NFL 21 had him at 86 for 2020.
Atlanta traded him to Cleveland in 2022, where Madden NFL 23 listed him at 82. He played 13 games for Carolina in 2023, then signed with Tampa Bay and appeared in all 17 games in 2025. Through the 2025 season he had 761 combined tackles, 13 interceptions, five defensive touchdowns and 12 sacks in 128 games.
