Brandon Scherff Madden Career 2016-2025 - Peak 90 OVR

Washington took Brandon Scherff fifth overall in 2015, higher than almost anyone expected a guard to go, but the Iowa product had just won the Outland Trophy and earned unanimous All-American honors as a tackle. Kicked inside to right guard as a pro, he became one of the most physical run blockers of his generation. Five Pro Bowls followed, after the 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons, along with a first-team All-Pro nod in 2020, the first for a Washington player since 1996. He started all 140 games he ever played.

His ratings settle into a long plateau of excellence. An 80 as a 2015 rookie became a 90 in the 2018 edition, his high-water mark, then held rock-steady at 87 across four straight editions from 2019 through 2022, the mark of a player defenses simply could not budge. He signed with Jacksonville in 2022 and gave the Jaguars three more sturdy seasons before retiring in 2025 after ten years. A shot-put and discus thrower in high school, Scherff blocked like it, all leverage and force at the point of attack.
