Eric Kendricks was born on February 29, 1992 in Clovis, California, played five seasons at UCLA, where he set the school career record with 481 tackles and won the 2014 Butkus Award, and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the 45th pick in 2015. He led the Vikings in tackles as a rookie with 92, and Madden NFL 16 listed him at 72 for the 2015 season.
He started all 16 games in 2017 and recorded 113 tackles, and Madden NFL 18 rated him 80 for that season. In 2019 he had 110 tackles and 12 passes defensed and was named first-team All-Pro. He was not among the original Pro Bowl selections that year and was added to the roster later as a replacement. He recorded 143 tackles and 5.0 sacks in 2021, and Madden NFL 22 put him at 90 for that season.
Minnesota released him in March 2023. He posted 117 tackles for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023, and Madden NFL 24 listed him at 85 for that season, then 138 tackles for the Dallas Cowboys in 2024. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers practice squad in November 2025 and appeared in three games for them. Through the 2025 season he had 1,180 tackles, 21.5 sacks and 11 interceptions in 150 games.
