On October 15, 2017, Adrian Amos read Joe Flacco, jumped the throw, and took it 90 yards the other way for his first career interception, a full-field sprint that told you what kind of safety Chicago had found in the fifth round, 142nd overall, of the 2015 draft out of Penn State. He made the All-Rookie team that first fall and never really left the field again.

Amos gave the Bears four seasons before Green Bay signed him in 2019, and he spent four more patrolling the back end for the Packers, later passing through the Jets and Texans in 2023. He finished with more than 500 tackles and nine interceptions, the numbers of a player coaches trusted in coverage and against the run without a fuss. Madden tracked the climb honestly: a 66 as a raw rookie in the 2015 game, up to a 90 in the 2018 edition after he had grown into one of the surer tacklers in the league, then a long plateau in the high 80s, including an 89 in the 2021 edition. Off the field he built the I'm Still Here Foundation around Alzheimer's awareness.
