Josh Gordon Madden Career 2014-2018 - Peak 93 OVR
1,646 yards in 14 games, then the suspensions
In 2013 Josh Gordon led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards in just 14 games, becoming the first receiver in league history to post back-to-back 200-yard games, and he did it for a bad Browns team cycling through quarterbacks. The talent was overwhelming: a 6'3" frame, deep speed and body control that made him a first-team All-Pro in his second season. Cleveland had taken him in the second round of the 2012 supplemental draft out of Baylor, after a transfer from Utah.
Repeated suspensions for substance-abuse violations cost him the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons and chunks of others, and he never again approached that 2013 form. He resurfaced with New England, where he earned a Super Bowl LIII ring despite a late-season suspension, and later passed through Seattle, Kansas City and Tennessee before retiring in 2024.
Madden captured both the height and the fall. Off his monster 2013, he shot to a 93 in the 2014 edition, one of the top receiver ratings in the game. The number slid to a 76 in the 2016 edition amid the absences and settled in the low 80s during his later comeback attempts.
