Jabaal Sheard came out of Pittsburgh as a second-round pick, 37th overall, of the 2011 Browns, and made an immediate dent with 8.5 sacks as a rookie on a bad Cleveland team. He gave the Browns four productive years off the edge before his career took a turn most Cleveland draftees never get.

In 2015 he signed with New England, and in February 2017 he won Super Bowl LI, the 34-28 overtime comeback against Atlanta. From there he moved to Indianapolis and kept rushing into the end of the decade, a steady, versatile defender who could set an edge and drop into coverage.

His Madden line mirrors a solid pro who never quite became a star. He opened at 72 in the 2011 edition, then jumped to 84 in 2012 once the production was on tape. The number bounced around the mid-80s for years, hit 88 in the 2016 release during his New England stretch, and reached its high of 89 in the 2018 edition before closing at 82 in 2019.
