Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

Best value of the weekend goes to the Bears for Golday: B-. Call it larceny. Jake Golday sat on the board until the 89th overall pick, and the Bears did not need to be asked twice.
The Prysock reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Caleb Banks
In No. 25 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jake Golday
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Jake Golday in Round 3, Pick 25, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick129
Rnd4
Jude Bowry
A big swing on Jude Bowry at slot 129, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick163
Rnd5
Ephesians Prysock
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ephesians Prysock. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick239
Rnd7
Eli Heidenreich
Eli Heidenreich in pick 239 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick241
Rnd7
Jeff Caldwell
The board fumbled Jeff Caldwell all the way to the 241st pick, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
