Draft Profile: Bio
A four-star out of American Heritage in Pompano Beach, Lucas signed with Wisconsin and started his career fast, appearing in twelve games as a freshman in 2024 with 18 tackles, two for loss and an interception. His exit made national news. Lucas left Wisconsin for hometown Miami without entering the transfer portal, a move that prompted the Badgers to file a tampering lawsuit against the Hurricanes.
He started across the secondary at Miami in 2025, recording 33 tackles, five pass breakups, an interception and a forced fumble over sixteen games. He turned in a forced-fumble game against Pittsburgh and held up across a full season, drawing on the speed and length that made him a coveted recruit while rounding into form after the program change. The 33-tackle season and the around-the-ball production point to a long, press-capable corner whose recruiting pedigree and testing flag untapped upside.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Long and fast at 74 inches to match outside receivers
- Broke up five passes while adding an interception across sixteen games
- Carries vertical routes with the burst to stay attached
- Competes at the catch point with the frame to contest throws
- Started a full season after transferring in from Wisconsin
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Run defense is poor, a liability in support on the edge
- Finishing is shaky, with nine misses on the year
- Takeaway output is light, with a single interception
- Cover technique lags well behind the athletic tools
- A targeting suspension cost him a half in the title game
Scouting Report: Summary
Lucas is a long, fast outside corner who started a full season after transferring in from Wisconsin, pairing 74-inch length with the timed speed to carry vertical routes and contest at the catch point. He broke up five passes, added an interception, and competed on the boundary across sixteen games for a playoff team. The size-and-speed combination is the kind of projectable trait base NFL defenses want on the outside, and the early ACC starting experience is a point in his favor. The complementary skills lag the cover tools. His washed at the point in the run game, a liability in support on the edge, his tackling finish is shaky with nine misses, and his ball production is light with a single interception. His man-coverage technique trails the athletic tools, and a targeting suspension cost him a half in the title game. He is a tools-first outside corner whose run defense, finishing, and cover detail all need development.
The upside play is the length and the speed, a developmental boundary corner with starter upside if the technique and the run support tighten. The athletic ceiling is real and the age is on his side. He grades on Day 3 as a trait-based cover corner, a young player whose tape should improve with refinement, with his best football clearly ahead of him.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
