Draft Profile: Bio
Wayshawn Parker rushed for 1,907 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior at Grant Union High School in Sacramento. He also ran a 10.9 in the 100 meters and was a three-star recruit. He began at Washington State, where he started seven games as a freshman in 2024 and ran for 735 yards and four touchdowns, earning Pac-12 Freshman Top Performer recognition. After transferring to Utah, he led the Utes with 981 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 2025, averaging 7.0 yards a carry, and was named third-team All-Big 12. He then chose to return to Utah for 2026.
Parker has been even more productive as a junior. In eight games he has 726 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, plus 26 catches. Against Iowa State on 26 September he ran for 174 yards and two touchdowns and caught a third, and he added 171 yards and two scores against Kansas two weeks later.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Breaks tackles constantly, making 10 defenders miss on 18 carries at Iowa State
- Has caught 26 of 29 targets this season without a drop
- Good burst through the hole turns small creases into explosive runs
- Two games of 170-plus yards against Iowa State and Kansas show a lead-back ceiling
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Blitz pickup needs work, with two pressures allowed on just 38 pass-blocking snaps
- Smaller frame and one 20-carry game this season leave his workload capacity unproven
- Physical fronts have slowed him, with 4.3 yards a carry at Colorado and 3.6 against Houston
- Ball security slipped in 2025, with three fumbles on fewer than 150 carries
- As a junior he could return to Utah, leaving his 2027 entry uncertain
Scouting Report: Summary
Parker runs with excellent contact balance and a real burst, and his nine rushing touchdowns have powered a Utah offense that has climbed into the top 15. He breaks tackles at every level, as he did when he made 10 Iowa State defenders miss, and he has turned into a reliable receiver out of the backfield. However, his pass protection lags well behind the rest of his game, and his size raises questions about an NFL workload. His production can vary from week to week, and he had ball security problems in 2025.
Overall, Parker combines tough, explosive running with real value as a receiver. He projects as a seventh-round change-of-pace back, and his decision on whether to return to Utah for 2027 is still open.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
