Draft Profile: Bio
Rodrick Pleasant from Junipero Serra High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Pleasant opted to join Oregon after being heavily recruited. In 2023 as a freshman Pleasant saw action in 6 games and played a total of 50 snaps at cornerback for the Ducks. He recorded just 3 tackles, one assist, while adding one stop. In coverage Pleasant notched up one pass breakup, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 78.5.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Pleasant tracks the ball well and does a nice job of getting his head around in plenty of time to avoid flags.
- Tracks the ball well downfield and shows good ball skills, including the ability to go up and high-point it in contested-catch situations.
- Has the fluidity, speed and quick feet to come down and defend slot receivers in man coverage. Pleasant also does a nice job breaking down in space as a tackler after the catch.
- Aware zone cornerback who is also adept in man coverage, flashing physical hand punch at the line and straight-line speed to stay with receivers downfield.
- He’s a better tackler than his size might suggest.
- Can get up on the line of scrimmage and deliver a solid punch early in routes, then use that quickness to shadow, or back off and close quickly when the ball comes out
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Receivers can arm-bar downfield to create separation. He's too often caught peeking in the backfield and gives ground on double moves.
- Will slip off tackles and needs to finish more consistently.
- Can leap but his size will be detrimental in box-out situations. Bites on play-action and isn't always in tune with rest of secondary.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
