Draft Profile: Bio
Kevin Riley ran for 1,306 yards and 11 touchdowns during his junior year at Tuscaloosa County High School in Northport, Alabama. Rated four stars and chosen for the Under Armour All-America Game, he flipped from Miami to his home-state program during the December 2023 signing period.Riley carried 10 times for 30 yards across two games in 2024. His 2025 season brought 11 appearances and two starts, running for 224 yards and two touchdowns and catching 19 passes for 176 yards and another score. He was inactive for the Iron Bowl and the conference championship game with an undisclosed problem, then a jaw injury kept him out against Oklahoma before he returned for the Rose Bowl.
Riley has been the third back on Alabama's depth chart in 2026, with 14 carries for 51 yards in four games, including six carries against East Carolina. There is no record of him playing since 3 October. Kalen DeBoer said in the spring that he showed good burst.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Caught 19 of the 21 passes thrown his way in 2025
- Good straight-line speed and burst for a running back
- Made two starts for Alabama during the 2025 season
- Former four-star recruit who flipped from Miami to Alabama
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Sits third on the Alabama running back depth chart this fall
- Carried the ball only 14 times across four games in 2026
- Missed the Iron Bowl and conference title game late in 2025
- Light for an every-down back who must absorb inside contact
- No recorded game action since the first weekend in October
Scouting Report: Summary
Riley is a quick, sure-handed running back who contributed as a receiver for Alabama in 2025. He has good burst and caught almost every pass thrown his way. However, he has slipped to third on the depth chart, with 14 carries this season and nothing recorded since early October. He is light, and injuries cost him several games late in 2025.
Overall, Riley is a change-of-pace back with receiving skills but a shrinking role. He projects as a priority free agent, though another year in Tuscaloosa looks more likely.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
