Draft Profile: Bio
A three-star recruit in the 2022 class, Audavion Collins started his college career at Mississippi State before transferring to Penn State in May 2023, drawn by cornerbacks coach Terry Smith. He also had offers from Western Kentucky and Akron. The first two years in State College were a slow build. He was buried on the depth chart in 2024 but still picked off a pass, and Smith and James Franklin singled him out as the player who made the biggest strides that offseason. He moved into the starting lineup for good in 2025 and finished with career highs of 47 tackles and three pass breakups.
Collins chose to return for his final year in 2026, the first season under Matt Campbell, as the oldest cornerback in the room. Over eight games he has allowed five catches for 32 yards on 19 targets with six pass breakups. Against Wisconsin he broke up three of the four passes thrown his way.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Reads route combinations early and drives on the throw before the receiver breaks
- Wisconsin threw at him four times and he broke up three of them
- Tight in man coverage this season, giving up one catch for six yards
- Good speed to carry vertical routes without needing to open his hips early
- Tracks the quarterback's eyes from zone and squeezes throwing windows from depth
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Missed two tackles each against Wisconsin and Michigan, finishing poorly in space
- Light frame gets moved by bigger receivers who use their hands at the stem
- Has no interceptions this season despite six pass breakups, so ball skills stop at the catch point
- Man coverage was a problem in 2025, so the 2026 jump needs to hold up
- Only one full season as a starter before this year, which limits the tape
Scouting Report: Summary
Collins has turned himself into Penn State's most reliable cover man, and the numbers back up what shows on tape. He anticipates routes instead of reacting to them, has the speed to stay on top of vertical stems, and plays the ball with timing, as the three breakups against Wisconsin showed. Quarterbacks have largely stopped testing him. However, the rest of his game is thinner. He is a light corner who can be pushed around at the catch point, his tackling has been loose against Wisconsin and Michigan, and for all his breakups he has not picked off a pass this season. The improvement in man coverage from 2025 to 2026 is real, but it is one season of evidence.
Overall, Collins reads the game like a veteran outside corner, and his development curve is still pointing up. He projects as a sixth-round depth corner whose zone instincts and special teams value give him a path to a roster spot.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
