Draft Profile: Bio
Out of Wayne High in Huber Heights, Ohio, Trick signed with Miami of Ohio as a three-star and developed slowly, redshirting in 2022 and recording just six tackles in 2023.The production arrived as an upperclassman. He started three games in 2024 and posted 37 tackles, 4.5 sacks and an interception, then broke through as a senior in 2025 with First-Team All-MAC honors.
Working off the edge, Trick led the position with eight sacks and 67 pressures across thirteen games, adding 36 run stops, three forced fumbles and an interception. His signature outing came against Northern Illinois, where he logged a sack, a forced fumble and seven pressures. He entered the transfer portal after the season and committed to Texas Tech as a coveted Power Four addition. Across his Miami career he stacked nearly forty games, and the breakout 8.5-sack senior year made him one of the MAC's most disruptive edge defenders.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- High-volume rusher, generating sixty-seven pressures and eight sacks
- Disrupted Wisconsin with two sacks and eight pressures against power competition
- Beat Akron for two sacks and five run stops in one game
- Anchors the edge against the run with thirty-six stops
- Durable across 671 snaps as the RedHawks' defensive centerpiece
- Intercepted a pass to flash some awareness beyond the rush
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Production came at the MAC level rather than against power fronts
- Open-field finish is ordinary despite the heavy snap count
- Average timed speed limits the bend around the corner
- Pass-rush wins lean on effort more than a refined plan
Scouting Report: Summary
Trick was the centerpiece of Miami of Ohio's defense, a high-volume edge who generated sixty-seven pressures and eight sacks across 671 snaps. The most encouraging tape came against power competition: two sacks and eight pressures at Wisconsin, a sign the production is not purely a function of the level. He set a firm edge with thirty-six run stops, beat Akron for two sacks and five stops, and intercepted a pass, the marks of a complete MAC defender ready to test up a level. The context tempers the projection. The bulk of the disruption came at the MAC level rather than against power-conference tackles week to week, his tackling finish is ordinary despite the heavy workload, and his average timed speed limits the bend around the corner. His pass-rush wins lean on effort and relentlessness more than a refined plan. He is a productive program player whose game has to prove it travels against bigger, faster blockers.
He slots as a rotational edge with starter upside who wins with motor, volume, and run-defense reliability, a Group of Five riser worth a developmental bet. The competition level and the ordinary athleticism keep the grade measured, but the production and durability are real. He grades as a Day 3 edge with rotational upside, and a move up to the Big 12 will be the proving ground.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
