Draft Profile: Bio
Samuel Omosigho arrived at Oklahoma from Crandall High School in Heartland, Texas, as a consensus four-star recruit who posted more than 200 tackles, six interceptions, and nine sacks over his final two prep seasons. After seven tackles as a 2023 freshman, he broke through in 2024 with 39 tackles and 5.0 tackles for loss while starting three games at the hybrid Cheetah linebacker spot.

Moving to inside linebacker in 2025, Omosigho played all 13 games in a rotational role and ranked fifth on the Sooners with 50 tackles, adding 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and three pass breakups. He opened with a career-high eight tackles and a sack against Illinois State, recovered a fumble with six tackles in the win at Alabama, and made five tackles at Tennessee. Oklahoma went 10-3, reached the College Football Playoff, and fell 34-24 to Alabama in the first round.

After the season Omosigho entered the transfer portal and committed to UCLA for 2026, heading to the Bruins with one year of eligibility remaining after three seasons in Norman.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Rare timed speed, among the fastest linebackers in this group
  • Best-in-group tackle finish, charged with only one miss
  • Quick downhill backer whose run defense leads the profile
  • Sacked Michigan while flashing blitz value from the second level
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Saw rotation snaps, leaving a smaller body of work
  • More athletic than anticipatory in coverage right now
  • Limited backfield disruption despite the rare closing speed
  • Production scaled with snaps rather than featured volume
  • Will need to prove the role expands to every-down work
Scouting Report: Summary
Omosigho is a track-fast off-ball linebacker whose stout against the run and whose tackle finish was the cleanest in this group, with a single miss on the year. In a rotation role he sacked Michigan while flashing blitz value, and the rare speed shows up chasing plays to the perimeter. He earned a Butkus Award watch-list nod, and the per-snap production points to a player whose role should grow with opportunity.

The holdups are usage and coverage. He played a rotation role so the body of work is smaller, his coverage is ordinary and more athletic than anticipatory, and his pass-rush production is modest despite the speed. His production scaled with snaps rather than featured volume, and he will need to prove the role expands to every-down work. He is a speed-and-finish bet whose pass-defense reps have to develop.

Cast him as a run-down and special-teams linebacker with coverage upside tied to his speed, a developmental piece who could grow into more with snaps. The ordinary coverage and the smaller sample keep the grade modest, but the rare speed and clean finish are real. He grades as a Day 3 linebacker on traits and special-teams value, now on his final eligibility at a new program, where a featured role would let the rare speed show on every down.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
