Honors & awards
- 2021 Buck Buchanan Award
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Combines very good instincts with above-average reaction skills. Almost always finds the ball in traffic.
- Land has good quickness and an excellent understanding of angles, often beating blockers to the spot.
- Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #64. He wrote, "Coach Willie Simmons says he loves Land’s motor and his toughness. Land, now 6-4, 225, clocked a 4.6 40 this offseason and broad-jumped 10-9. His L-drill time was 6.7 seconds. He also bench pressed 375 and squatted 600."
- Handles misdirection well with quick change-of-direction ability. Comes downhill quickly against the run when Land has an open lane.
- Looks the part. Good height and a thick, muscular build. Long arms. Good overall athleticism and straight-line speed.
- He’s ultra-aggressive and plays with a non-stop motor, and he has the instincts and closing speed to find the ball and meet the ball carrier quickly.
- Shows toughness to get under the pads of tackles to bull them, club them upfield to get the inside lane, or fight through blocks for secondary rush when the passer steps up.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- His lateral agility and burst often put him in position to make big plays, but Land takes questionable routes to the ball and struggles to avoid blockers when in pursuit.
- He’ll also need to be covered in the run game, more of a Will than a Mike in a 4-3 alignment.
- Land lacks elite traits in the pass rush and will need to develop a counter move.
