Smith Snowden from Skyridge High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Snowden opted to join Utah after being heavily recruited.In 2023 as a freshman Snowden saw action in 5 games and played a total of 118 snaps at cornerback for the Utes. He recorded just 2 tackles, one assist, while adding 2 stops. In coverage Snowden notched up no pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 56.3.

Scouting Report: Strengths
- Has the change-of-direction ability to mirror underneath but did solid work out of press and off coverage.
- He’s a willing and capable hitter in run support and closes fast to make plays against quick screens.
- He’ll line up in press at times, where Snowden has a quick and powerful punch. His ball skills are good, and he plays with an extremely confident and competitive demeanor.
- Snowden can flip his hips and run, with good top-end speed and the length to make plays on the ball.
- Aware zone cornerback who is also adept in man coverage, flashing physical hand punch at the line and straight-line speed to stay with receivers downfield.
- Tracks the ball well and has the natural ball skills for forcing turnovers.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Isn’t overly physical and might struggle to win early against bigger receivers in the NFL. He’s also underpowered in run support, not aggressive enough coming downhill, and too much of a grab-and-drag tackler.
- Feet aren’t ideal, as Snowden gets sloppy in his backpedal and can be sluggish when transitioning to close on the ball.
- Gave up far too many big plays in college, especially concerning since he has recovery speed to make up for missteps.
