Draft Profile: Bio
Ju'Juan Johnson was Louisiana's Mr. Football in 2023 as a quarterback at Lafayette Christian Academy, setting a state record with 14,451 total yards and 171 touchdowns. He was a MaxPreps national player of the year finalist, the school retired his jersey, and recruiters projected him as a four-star cornerback, with offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Colorado.Johnson began at LSU as a defensive back in 2024 and changed positions to running back that September. In 2025 he played in 13 games with one start, scoring two rushing touchdowns, catching 18 passes and completing a 14-yard pass, though he fumbled three times.
Johnson transferred to Syracuse in January 2026. He sat out the opener with an ankle problem, then ran 15 times for 46 yards and a touchdown in the 21-18 loss to Cal and caught four passes at Pitt before hurting his hand there and missing the UConn game. He has 142 rushing yards this season in a limited role behind Ahmad Miller.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Forty time in the elite band for running backs
- Record-setting high school quarterback and Louisiana Mr. Football
- Experience at quarterback, cornerback and running back since high school
- Caught all four of his targets in the game at Pitt
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Fumbled three times on limited touches at LSU in 2025
- Missed games with ankle and hand injuries this season
- Averaging about 3.4 yards a carry at Syracuse
- Still learning running back after starting college on defense
- Stuck in a backup role behind Ahmad Miller this season
Scouting Report: Summary
Johnson is a fast, versatile athlete who set state records as a high school quarterback and has played offense and defense in college. He is a capable receiver and brings big-play speed. However, he remains raw at running back, has fumbled too often and has missed games with injuries this season. He averages only about 3.4 yards a carry.
Overall, Johnson is a gifted athlete still searching for a position. He projects as a priority free agent with special teams appeal.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
