Scouting Report: Summary

Hampton is a long, willing outside corner with good speed who has become one of the most productive cover men in the country this season. He started all 13 games in 2025 while his technique caught up to his tools, and in 2026 the payoff has arrived: nine pass breakups, an interception at LSU and only 15 catches allowed on 38 targets. Through the first four games he led the country in passes defended.

His tape has improved in the areas that held him back. He is staying in phase on vertical routes, using his length to finish at the catch point and playing with better eyes in zone. He had three breakups against Georgia Southern and three more in the win at Cal, and Dabo Swinney has praised his maturity and approach. He has also been productive since his first season, with a pick-six as a freshman. Opponents have completed only 15 of 38 throws his way for 216 yards this season, a sign quarterbacks are finding few clean windows.

However, the consistency is still building.
