Kyler Murray: Heisman Winner, No. 1 Pick, Two Pro Bowls
Kyler Murray was born on August 7, 1997 in Bedford, Texas. He spent 2015 at Texas A&M, transferred to Oklahoma, and won the Heisman Trophy in 2018. The Oakland Athletics drafted him ninth overall in the 2018 MLB draft, but he chose football, and the Arizona Cardinals took him with the first pick of the 2019 draft.
Murray started all 16 games as a rookie, opening with a 27-27 tie against Detroit on September 8, 2019, and won AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. Madden NFL 20 listed him at 73 overall for that season. He was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 2020 and 2021 seasons, and Madden NFL 22 listed him at 82 overall for 2021, the year Arizona started 7-0 and reached the wild-card round.
Madden NFL 23 listed him at 84 overall for 2022, the season he tore his ACL on the third play of a December 12 game against New England. He returned in November 2023 and started all 17 games in 2024, a season for which Madden NFL 25 listed him at 77 overall. A foot injury in a week five loss to Tennessee ended his 2025 season after five starts. Arizona released him in March 2026 and he signed a one-year contract with Minnesota. Through the 2025 season he had 20,460 passing yards, 121 touchdown passes and 3,193 rushing yards.
