The sack celebration that tore his own ACL
Down 25 points to New England in October 2014, Chicago's Lamarr Houston sacked Tom Brady, then blew out his own ACL celebrating, an ending so unfortunate that a local billboard mocked it. It became the moment attached to his name, unfair to a solid career but hard to shake.
Houston came out of Texas and Oakland took him in the second round, 44th overall, in 2010. He was a stout run defender and a reliable interior and edge presence for the Raiders before signing with the Bears in 2014. He returned from the knee injury, later went back to Oakland in 2017, and retired after eight NFL seasons.
His rating line tracks the rise and the setback. He starts at 70 in the 2010 edition as a rookie, builds to 85 by the 2012 edition, and hits 89 in both the 2013 and 2014 editions during his best stretch of play. The 2015 edition, released after the celebration injury, drops him to 77, and he settled around 80 through the 2017 edition.
