Draft Profile: Bio
Suntarine Perkins grew up in Raleigh, Mississippi, a town of fewer than 1,500 people where he became the state's top high school prospect. A unanimous five-star recruit and consensus top-100 national talent, he was a two-way force at Raleigh High who led his team to its first state championship in 2022. He rushed for over 2,000 yards and 32 touchdowns as a senior while recording 92 tackles on defense, then chose Ole Miss over Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and a deep list of Power Five programs.Perkins played in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2023, starting two, and earned Freshman All-American and Freshman All-SEC honors with 38 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, and 3.5 sacks. His sophomore season marked a significant jump: he tied for the team lead with 14.0 TFLs and 10.5 sacks across 13 games, earning All-SEC Third Team and All-America Honorable Mention while helping anchor the nation's top rush defense.
He underwent shoulder surgery before his junior year in 2025 but returned to start and landed on the Bednarik, Lombardi, and Nagurski Award preseason watch lists. He also earned SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll and Dean's Honor Roll recognition during his time in Oxford.

- Versatile chess piece, lining up off the ball, in the slot, and on the edge
- Posted forty-two run stops and sixty-five tackles across fifteen games
- Stoned Arkansas for five run stops while playing all over the front
- Brought down the quarterback twice in the bowl meeting with Miami
- Plays with speed and instincts that let a defense move him anywhere
- Tallied three forced fumbles and an interception as a playmaker
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Very light at 210 pounds, a frame that gives ground against power
- Missed fourteen tackles, a finish problem at his size
- Shoulder surgery before the season is worth a medical check
Scouting Report: Summary
Perkins is a do-everything chess piece, a 210-pound hybrid who lined up off the ball, in the slot, and on the edge, and whose coverage is rare for a player with pass-rush in his job description. He posted forty-two run stops and sixty-five tackles, stoned Arkansas for five stops while moving all over the front, brought down the quarterback twice against Miami in the bowl, and added three forced fumbles and an interception. The versatility is the headline, and it is genuine. The frame is the obvious limiter. At 210 pounds he gives ground against power, he missed fourteen tackles, a real finish problem at his size, and his pure pass rush trails the coverage and run portions of his game. A shoulder surgery before the season warrants a medical check, and his production dipped from a monster 2024. He is a movable piece who needs the right scheme to protect him from heavy interior duty.
He fits as a versatile sub-package linebacker and situational rusher who wins with speed, instincts, and alignment flexibility, a coordinator's toy if the frame holds up. He has to finish tackles and prove the body can take NFL pounding, but the coverage and versatility are uncommon. He grades as a Day 2 hybrid defender whose value rises in a multiple front that moves him snap to snap.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
