Draft Profile: Bio
Melvin Siani spent most of his childhood in goal for Ontario Player Development League soccer clubs and then in basketball gyms, and he did not play organized football until his senior year at Wyoming Seminary in Pennsylvania, where one season was enough to make him a first-team all-conference pick. Temple was among the few programs willing to take the chance. He redshirted with the Owls in 2023 and started nine games in 2024, opening on the right side and then making his first left tackle start against UTSA. After Temple dismissed Stan Drayton, Siani moved on to Wake Forest, where he started all 13 games at left tackle in 2025 without giving up a sack on nearly 500 pass-blocking snaps, closing the year with a strong outing in the Duke's Mayo Bowl against Mississippi State.
Siani entered the portal again in January and committed to Texas within hours. Every snap of his 2026 season has come at right tackle for the unbeaten Longhorns, including the 24-23 win over Ohio State and the 20-17 victory at Tennessee.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Calm, balanced pass sets on the left side; no sacks allowed in 13 starts at Wake Forest
- Long arms land first in his punch, keeping rushers off his frame through the rep
- Soccer footwork shows in his lateral slides and his recovery when initially beaten
- Handled Ohio State's edge rush for 80 snaps, giving up a single pressure
- Adapts quickly, with starts at both tackle spots for three programs in four seasons
- Rare late bloomer whose arrow is still climbing after a single prep season of football
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Run blocking trails his protection; lacks the drive to move down linemen off the ball
- Right tackle transition is a work in progress, with two sacks allowed in four games
- Penalties were an issue at Wake Forest, with seven flags across the 2025 season
- Raw technically after one season of high school football, so hand placement still wavers
Scouting Report: Summary
Siani is one of the more unusual stories in this class: a former soccer goalkeeper and basketball player who played a single season of high school football and is now a starting tackle on the No. 1 team in the country. The athletic background shows up in protection. He sets with balance, stays square and keeps his long arms between himself and the rusher, which is how he went a full season on Wake Forest's blind side without surrendering a sack. Against Ohio State in September he handled 80 snaps of high-level edge rush and gave up just one pressure. However, the run game is a different story. He does not yet create consistent push on down blocks, he can be stalemated when asked to drive a defender off the ball, and the switch to right tackle has not been seamless, with two sacks allowed in four games. Given how little football he has played, the technical gaps are understandable, but NFL teams will want to see more functional strength and finish before trusting him on early downs.
Overall, Siani is a protection-first tackle whose arrow is pointing sharply upward. He projects as a fourth-round tackle with starting upside on the left side if the run blocking develops, while even his downside, a swing tackle who can cover both edges on passing downs, carries real value. Few prospects in the class have climbed further, faster.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
