Draft Profile: Bio
A four-star prospect and the 2023 Indiana Mr. Football Offensive Lineman, Ian Moore was a two-way lineman at New Palestine, collecting 9.5 tackles for loss in his final season while helping his team reach the Class 4A state semifinals. He also threw the shot put and picked Ohio State over Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin.

Moore enrolled early in January 2024 and redshirted after appearing in four games, including the playoff win over Tennessee. In 2025 he played in all 14 games, mostly as a reserve, and got his first start at right tackle against Purdue. He was then pressed into duty at left tackle for the entire second half of the Cotton Bowl playoff game against Miami after Austin Siereveld was injured.

After a strong spring, Moore won the left tackle job for 2026 as the only new starter on the Buckeyes' line. He has started all five games for a 4-1 team, including the 24-23 loss at Texas and a 31-14 win at Iowa.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Long, athletic frame for the blind side with smooth movement in his kick slide
  • Pass protection leads his game, with two pressures allowed across three of his first four starts
  • Settled in on short notice, holding up for a half of the Cotton Bowl playoff game at left tackle
  • Former two-way lineman and shot putter who plays with balance and body control
  • Young riser with two years of eligibility left and room to add strength
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Run blocking lags his protection; wins with positioning rather than drive
  • Struggled against the better fronts, allowing six pressures at Iowa and a sack at Texas
  • Needs more anchor strength to absorb bull rushes from bigger edge defenders
  • Only one career start before 2026, so the body of work is thin
Scouting Report: Summary
Moore has the frame, background and pedigree of a left tackle, and in his first season as a starter he has mostly looked the part. He was a two-way lineman and shot putter in high school, and that athleticism shows in how quickly he gets to his landmark in pass protection. He did not allow a pressure in his starting debut at Purdue last November, held up for an entire half of a playoff game at left tackle on short notice, and gave up only two pressures across three of his first four starts this fall.

However, he is still learning on the job. The run game is the weaker half of his tape, as he wins more with positioning than with power, and the Iowa game was a reminder of how much growth remains: six pressures allowed in one afternoon against a disciplined Big Ten front. With barely a season of meaningful snaps, any evaluation of Moore is a projection, and it would surprise no one if he returned to Columbus to build a fuller body of work.

Overall, Moore is a developmental left tackle with the tools teams covet and the polish of a player who has been well coached. He projects as a fifth-round pick today; with added strength the ceiling is a starting left tackle, and the worst case is a backup on a roster that can afford to be patient.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
