Draft Profile: Bio
Bryant Wesco Jr. caught 109 passes for 1,903 yards and 29 touchdowns at Midlothian High School in Texas, played in the Under Armour All-America Game and finished fifth in the triple jump at the 2023 Texas 5A state meet. Both of his parents were Division I triple jumpers at Louisiana Tech, where his father is in the Hall of Fame, and his sister played soccer at Oklahoma and North Texas. 247Sports rated him a five-star recruit and the No. 22 player in the class.

Wesco caught 41 passes for 708 yards and five touchdowns as a true freshman in 2024, including eight catches for 143 yards and two scores in the ACC title game against SMU, and he was a first-team freshman All-American by ESPN and the FWAA. He had 31 catches for 537 yards and six touchdowns in seven games in 2025, with 126 yards at Georgia Tech, before he landed on his head and neck on a punt return against SMU in October. He was hospitalized overnight, missed the rest of the season and had surgery in Pittsburgh, and he was fully cleared by the summer.

Wesco has played every game in 2026. He returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown at Cal, Clemson's first punt-return score since 2018, and caught nine passes for a career-high 152 yards against No. 4 Miami. He has 38 catches for 411 yards in eight games for a 5-3 team. Dabo Swinney called the outcome of his 2025 injury a blessing and the best-case scenario.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Rare long speed that stretches defenses vertically down the field
  • Career-high nine catches for 152 yards against No. 4 Miami
  • Returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown at Cal
  • Tracks the deep ball and adjusts comfortably downfield
  • Produced on a big stage as a freshman, with 143 yards in the ACC title game
  • Strong athletic background from a family of college triple jumpers
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Spinal injury and surgery in 2025 will be a key medical check
  • Dropped five passes this season and five more in 2025
  • No receiving touchdowns in eight games this season
  • Light frame that physical corners can outmuscle through the route
Scouting Report: Summary
Wesco is an explosive vertical receiver with rare speed and the tracking skills to win over the top. He produced as a true freshman, with 708 yards and a big ACC title game against SMU, and he was on pace for a much bigger 2025 before a frightening injury on a punt return in October. His family background in the triple jump shows in his acceleration and body control.

Getting back on the field was the first goal, and he has played every game in 2026. His best day came against No. 4 Miami, with nine catches for a career-high 152 yards, and he returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown at Cal. He has 38 catches for 411 yards in eight games, and Dabo Swinney's relief after the 2025 injury was clear when he called the outcome a blessing. He has drawn 60 targets this season, a sign Clemson still trusts him as a primary option.

However, his 2026 production has been modest outside the Miami game. He has no receiving touchdowns this season, he has dropped five passes after five more in 2025, and he has won two of seven contested targets. His frame is light, physical corners can outmuscle him through the route, and the 2025 spinal injury and surgery will be a key part of his medical review. He is also averaging just under 11 yards a catch this season.

Overall, Wesco has the speed and big-play ability of a starting flanker, and a strong November would help restore the momentum of his freshman season. He projects as a third-round receiver with the ceiling of a vertical starter if the medical reports are clean. His freshman production and his return ability give him a path to early snaps, and he still has eligibility left if he chooses to return.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
