Draft Profile: Bio
A graduate transfer from Alabama to UCF, Amari Kight started 10 games at right tackle for the Knights in 2023. The former four-star recruit from Thompson High School in Alabama played a crucial role in UCF's offensive success, helping the team rank fourth nationally in rushing offense (228.2 yards per game) and eighth in total offense (487.0 yards per game). Prior to UCF, Kight served as Alabama's backup left tackle, appearing in 12 games in 2022 and seeing action in multiple seasons including the 2021 College Football Playoff.

At Thompson High School, Kight was ranked as the No. 8 offensive tackle by ESPN and earned first-team all-state recognition. His high school career culminated in an appearance in the Under Armour All-America Game and the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. As a consensus four-star recruit, Kight was rated among the top players in Alabama and ranked 76th nationally by 247Composite.

In his final collegiate season at UCF, Kight logged 745 offensive snaps and established himself as the team's most reliable pass protector. His performances helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for one of the nation's most productive offenses, demonstrating significant development from his time as a rotational player at Alabama.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Exceptional arm length and frame composition allows for optimal punch timing and creates natural leverage advantages against edge rushers
  • Shows impressive lateral agility for his size, displaying fluid movement skills when mirroring defenders in pass protection
  • Clean footwork in vertical pass sets, maintaining good balance and proper weight distribution throughout his kick-slide
  • Demonstrates consistent hand placement in pass protection, keeping defenders away from his chest and maintaining leverage
  • Quick processor who identifies and picks up stunts and blitzes effectively, rarely looking confused by defensive schemes
  • Strong anchor against power rushers, able to absorb initial contact and reset his base without giving ground
  • Shows good awareness in zone blocking schemes, understanding proper angles and timing when climbing to the second level
  • Maintains blocks through the whistle with a persistent finishing mentality, especially in the run game
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Lacks elite explosion off the snap, sometimes allowing quicker edge rushers to get the early advantage in pass protection
  • Inconsistent pad level in run blocking leads to reduced power transfer and difficulty sustaining blocks against stronger defenders
  • Needs to improve hand strength and initial punch power to better control defenders at the point of attack
  • Shows some stiffness when redirecting against counter moves, particularly against more athletic edge defenders
  • Could improve lower body flexibility to better handle speed-to-power conversions from elite pass rushers
Scouting Report: Summary
The tape shows a developmental tackle with adequate anchor strength and plus length who wins primarily with his extension and pass-blocking foundation. Despite above-average athletic tools, the anchor strength and power generation in the run game remain works in progress. Day three valuation stems from the need for significant technical refinement, particularly in drive blocking and maintaining leverage through contact.

Zone-heavy schemes will maximize his movement skills and ability to reach the second level, while masking current deficiencies in point-of-attack power. His experience at both tackle spots provides roster flexibility, though his technical foundation and length profile best on the right side where he can be protected early in his career while developing play strength.

The ceiling here is a spot starter who can hold up in pass protection, but the floor is a swing tackle who needs scheme protection. Early contributions will likely come as a backup tackle while strength training and technical development catch up to his natural tools. Critical year-one focus must be on lower body strength and converting length into consistent power at the point of attack.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
