Cardinals' No. 10 pick in 1994, 2001 first-team All-Pro

Jamir Miller was born on November 19, 1973 in Philadelphia and played three seasons at UCLA, where he was a consensus first-team All-American in 1993 and finished his college career with 23.5 sacks and 35 tackles for loss. The Arizona Cardinals drafted him 10th overall in 1994. He played 16 games as a rookie without a start, a season for which the calculated Madden NFL 95 rating was 92.

Miller started every game at right linebacker in 1996 and was listed at 32 in Madden NFL 97 for that season. He left Arizona after 1998 and signed with the Cleveland Browns, starting 15 games in 1999 and all 16 in 2000, a season for which Madden NFL 2001 listed him at 90.

In 2001 Miller recorded 13 sacks and 83 tackles, was named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press and was selected to the Pro Bowl; he was the only Cleveland player chosen for a Pro Bowl between the franchise's 1999 return and 2007. Madden NFL 03 listed him at 89 for 2002, and on August 10 of that year he ruptured his right Achilles tendon in a preseason game against Minnesota. He announced his retirement on May 16, 2003, having played 121 games with 36 career sacks.

How to read these: Each row is the player’s rating in that year’s Madden, listed by the NFL season it covers (Madden NFL 2001 = the 2000 season). Madden sets its ratings before the season is played, so they reflect the previous season’s performance - a player’s breakout year tends to show up as a jump in the following year’s game.
About the starred rows*: Several early Madden releases rated players on a 1-15 scale, as printed in the game manuals, rather than the modern 0-99. We store those ratings converted to 0-99 (each manual point is about 6.6) so you can compare players across eras at a glance - use the 0-99 / 1-15 toggle above the table to see the original numbers on those seasons. EA didn’t publish an overall rating in those games, so the OVR* values for those years are our own calculation, the average of the player’s two best ratings.
Note: Some Madden releases tracked fewer attributes than others. Cells shown as - were not published by EA that year.
