Draft Profile: Bio
Rico Flores Jr. from Folsom High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Flores Jr. opted to join Notre Dame.

In 2023 as a freshman Flores Jr. saw action in 12 games for the Fighting Irish as he made 27 receptions for 392 yards for an average of 14.5 yards per reception, with one TD, and QB rating when targeted of 71.1.

After season's end Flores Jr. transferred to UCLA where as a sophomore in 2024 he played in just 3 games and had only 9 catches for 160 yards for an average of 17.8 yards per catch, with one TD, and QB rating when targeted of 111.5.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Often used on deep routes, getting separation down the sideline or over the middle on crossing routes by extending his arms rather than pure speed.
  • Against defensive backs who are brave enough to play press, his initial quickness should allow him to escape the jam.
  • Flores transitions quickly from receiver to runner, and Flores has enough speed to threaten the seam.
  • He’s extremely dangerous in the open field, showing the vision and creativity to run through entire defenses.
  • Flores tracks the ball well downfield and consistently runs under long throws.
  • A savvy, natural pass-catcher with reliable hands and very good focus. Snatches the ball out of the air and shows the concentration to make acrobatic catches look easy.
  • Good effort and technique as a blocker for his size. Can beat the press with elusiveness or physical contact. Runs crisp routes with sharp cuts.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Flores doesn’t have the ability as a run blocker or the violent run-after-catch ability.
  • He also had problems with drops when coming back to the action. Flores has some issues against press coverage, sometimes spending too much time hand fighting at the line of scrimmage.
  • While Flores has the athleticism to be a catch-and-run threat, he never seemed comfortable catching, gathering, and transitioning to a runner.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
