Draft Profile: Bio
Jason Zandamela was born in Mozambique and grew up playing rugby before moving to the United States in 2020. He finished high school at Clearwater Academy in Florida, where he was a four-star prospect and was rated the top interior offensive lineman in his class, and Under Armour named him to its all-star roster.Zandamela enrolled early at USC but left after spring practice in 2024 without appearing in a game, transferring to Florida. He redshirted that fall, and in 2025 he made his debut against LIU, playing 31 snaps at center.
Zandamela is the backup center for the Gators this season. He has played 33 snaps in four games, including 11 against FAU, 10 against Campbell and five against Ole Miss. He has a very light frame for a center, has yet to make a college start and has spent three years learning the position behind experienced SEC starters.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Rated the top interior lineman in his recruiting class
- Rugby background gives him unusual athletic experience for a lineman
- Has learned center in the SEC behind experienced starters
- Under Armour all-star selection coming out of Clearwater Academy
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Only 64 snaps in all across three college seasons
- Extremely light for an interior offensive lineman at any level
- Forty time is unremarkable for an interior lineman
- Never appeared in a game during his spring at USC
- Backup center who is still waiting on a first college start
Scouting Report: Summary
Zandamela is a former top interior recruit with an unusual path from Mozambique and a rugby background. He has spent three years learning center at USC and Florida. However, he has played only 64 college snaps and is extremely light for the interior. He is still a backup and has no starts.
Overall, Zandamela is a raw center with a good pedigree and a thin resume. He projects as a priority free agent in theory but needs more time to develop.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
