A three-star out of Kentridge in Kent, Washington, where he lettered in football and basketball, Thomas began his college career at Arizona before transferring to New Mexico for a featured role. He grew into a productive pass-catching tight end for the Lobos.In 2025 Thomas caught 56 passes for 560 yards and four touchdowns as a redshirt junior, adding 350 yards after the catch while handling an inline blocking workload on nearly 250 run-blocking snaps. A reliable, athletic two-way tight end who moves well after the catch, he profiles as a developing seam target whose production and frame put him on the draft radar at a Group of Five program. The 56-catch, 560-yard season made him one of the more productive Group of Five tight ends, and the move from Arizona to a featured New Mexico role unlocked the receiving game his frame always hinted at.

The former Arizona transfer is really a big slot, 239 pounds of catch-and-run quickness who stacked 350 after-catch yards on option routes and shallow crossers.The label is also the limitation. His blocking tape sits near the bottom of the group and the frame offers no path inline, the contested numbers, three of eleven, say the radius plays small, two fumbles refund part of the perfect-hands dividend, and the long speed is ordinary for a player whose role is built on running away from people. He entered the portal after the season with the destination unresolved, so even the 2026 platform is an open question.
Move tight ends who never drop the ball have a way of outliving their measurables, and a Power Four landing spot with similar target volume would put real evidence behind the efficiency.
