Scouting Report: Strengths
- Outstanding on reach blocks, showing good initial quickness and flexibility to seal the backside. He’s a heady player who is quick to recognize and react to twists and stunts up front, and Ogunbiyi shows a good sense of timing on combo blocks.
- Above-average football smarts and general intelligence. Plays with a nasty streak. Solid character and work ethic.
- Does a nice job on the second level, moving upfield quickly and showing the flexibility and balance to land blocks in space.
- Outstanding in the screen game, both because of his instincts to deceive defenders and mobility to get out in front and land blocks.
- In pass protection, he’s a fire hydrant who plays with a wide base and plenty of core strength.
- Ogunbiyi does a nice job working with teammates to build the pocket, anchoring against bull rushers and displaying good awareness against stunts and twists.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- For all of his physical gifts, often gets terribly sloppy, especially in pass protection.
- His hands aren’t violent enough to stand pass rushers up early in the down, and Ogunbiyi generally plays with poor balance.
- Heavy-footed, and his technique needs to get much better. Too often in pass protection, he was bending at the waist and lunging rather than moving his feet, a flaw that will be exposed at the NFL level whether he plays inside or out.
