Draft Profile: Bio
Trey Leckner from Glacier Peak High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Leckner opted to join Washington State.

In 2024 as a freshman Leckner saw action in just 3 games for the Cougars as he made one reception for just 33 yards for an average of 33.0 yards per reception, with one TD, and an excellent QB rating when targeted of 158.3.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Quickly secures and protects the ball. Tracks the ball well and adjusts to off-target throws.
  • Has good hand-eye coordination and body control to turn and adjust to poorly thrown balls.
  • A savvy, reliable pass catcher with good body control and focus. Soft hands and has the hand-eye coordination to secure wild throws.
  • Leckner has quick feet and good body control, allowing him to gear down and quickly get in and out of cuts. His hands are good, and he’s a creative runner after the catch with the elusiveness to slip tackles in space.
  • Leckner has strong hands and is extremely competitive, and Leckner has an innate sense of timing when it comes to elevating and high-pointing balls.
  • He’s broad-shouldered, long-limbed and a smooth athlete who showed the ability to make plays downfield.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • He’s largely a non-factor downfield, and Leckner had issues with drops when running behind a defensive back and tracking the ball. More quick than fast, he won’t always be able to run away from NFL defensive backs.
  • He’ll give enough effort to get in the way, but because he doesn’t get any push in the run game, he won’t be used in-line early in his career.
  • He’ll have to develop a better feel for sitting down against zone coverage.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
