Draft Profile: Bio
Micah Gilbert set a Charlotte Christian school record in North Carolina with about 1,200 receiving yards in his senior season and earned first-team all-state honors. A four-star recruit, he also scored 15.5 points per game on the basketball court and ran track. His father, Mark, played basketball at Duquesne, and his brother, also named Mark, played football at Duke and signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent.Gilbert played in three games without a catch in 2024. A broken hand suffered as spring practice opened in 2025 required surgery, and he then caught nine passes for 93 yards and a touchdown in 10 games.
Gilbert has become Notre Dame's starting boundary receiver in 2026, with 24 catches for 430 yards and three touchdowns. He set a career high with eight catches for 170 yards in the 27-10 win over Michigan State on 19 September, and he caught a 47-yard pass among two catches against Rice.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Caught eight passes for 170 yards against Michigan State
- Averaging almost 18 yards a catch this season
- Big target who scored at Purdue and against Navy
- Has not dropped a pass on 33 targets this season
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Won only two of seven contested targets this season
- Average deep speed, so he wins more with size than separation
- BYU held him to three catches for 31 yards
- Just one season of meaningful production in three years
- Broke his hand and needed surgery in 2025
Scouting Report: Summary
Gilbert has broken out as Notre Dame's top outside receiver this season. He is a big, reliable target who has not dropped a pass, and his 170 yards against Michigan State showed his big-play ability. However, his speed is average, and he has won only two of seven contested targets. His production comes almost entirely from this season, and BYU kept him quiet.
Overall, Gilbert is an improving receiver from an athletic family. He projects as a priority free agent whose stock could climb with another year.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
