Draft Profile: Bio
Kris Jones was a four-star recruit and Under Armour All-American who ranked as the second-best prospect in Virginia. He spent three years at Mountain View High School in Stafford before finishing at Fairfax High School. Basketball was his other sport, and 247Sports ranked him 134th nationally and 11th among linebackers.

Jones enrolled early at Georgia in January 2024 and redshirted that season. He played in 13 games in 2025 and made seven tackles after Georgia moved him from inside linebacker to the edge.

Jones transferred to Boston College in January 2026, saying the coaching staff had a plan for him. He has started at weakside linebacker, made six tackles against Rutgers and posted 10 combined tackles at Georgia Tech, and his tackling has been clean, with one miss all season. He played 62 snaps in the loss at Duke on 31 October.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Rare speed for a linebacker who can also rush off the edge
  • Reliable finisher, with one missed tackle in seven games
  • Made 10 combined tackles in the game at Georgia Tech
  • Solid against the run, with 12 stops in seven games
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Little pass rush, with three pressures and no sacks this season
  • Still learning a new position after moving from inside linebacker
  • Limited college experience, with seven tackles before 2026
  • Modest output for a starter so far, with 26 total tackles
  • Has plenty of eligibility left, so a return is likely
Scouting Report: Summary
Jones is an athletic, instinctive linebacker who has found a starting role at Boston College. He has rare speed for the position, tackles well, with one miss all season, and has been productive against the run, as his 10-tackle game at Georgia Tech showed.

However, he is still early in his development. His pass rush has been quiet, with three pressures, he is still learning after moving between positions at Georgia, and he is in his first season of real playing time.

Overall, Jones has the athletic tools that made him a four-star recruit. He projects as a priority free agent if he declares, but another season or two in college looks like the better path.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
