Draft Profile: Bio
Caleb Woodson was a two-time Class 6 all-state pick at Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Virginia, helping the team to a 2021 state title and and he made 115 tackles with 20 tackles for loss in 2022. He was a three-star recruit.Woodson played in all 13 games as a freshman at Virginia Tech in 2023 before starting 11 games at middle linebacker in 2024, making 72 tackles with two sacks and an interception against Duke. He was arrested on a DWI charge in August 2025 and lost his captaincy, then made five starts that season and missed three games with an injury.
Woodson transferred to Alabama for his last year of eligibility and has started at middle linebacker. He had two sacks in the 45-17 win at Kentucky on 12 September and intercepted a pass in the 56-23 win at Mississippi State.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Two sacks in the win at Kentucky showed his timing as a blitzer
- Plays downhill against the run, with eight stops at Kentucky
- Intercepted a pass in the win at Mississippi State
- Experienced Mike linebacker who has started at two Power Four programs
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Missed 14 tackles this season, including six at Tennessee
- Coverage is a problem, allowing 16 of 20 targets for 227 yards
- Arrested on a DWI charge in August 2025 and stripped of his captaincy
- An injury cost him three games in 2025
- Average range limits him against backs in space
Scouting Report: Summary
Woodson is a physical, experienced linebacker who brings energy to the Alabama front. He fills downhill against the run, times his blitzes well, as his two sacks at Kentucky showed, and has made plays on the ball, with an interception at Mississippi State. However, missed tackles have been a real issue, with 14 misses this season and six at Tennessee alone. His coverage is a weakness, and his DWI arrest in 2025, which cost him his captaincy at Virginia Tech, will be a topic in team interviews.
Overall, Woodson has the toughness and experience of a long-time starter. He projects as a priority free agent who must tighten his tackling and earn trust off the field.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
