Draft Profile: Bio
Andrew DePaepe had seven sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss in his junior season at Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf, Iowa, and he played basketball as well. A four-star recruit ranked No. 124 nationally by 247Sports, he had offers from Michigan, Iowa and Nebraska and signed with Michigan State.DePaepe redshirted at Michigan State in 2023 and moved to Indiana in May 2024, but a knee injury in fall camp wiped out that season. He made four appearances for Indiana in 2025 and recorded two tackles.
DePaepe transferred to UMass with his brother, William, in January 2026 and has suited up for every game. He has 20 pressures, including nine against Stonehill, and has made nine stops. He had three tackles and two quarterback hits at Rutgers and five tackles with three pressures at UConn, but a sack has eluded him.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Quick first step and a forty time in the elite range
- Generated 20 pressures across eight games this season
- Racked up nine pressures in the game against Stonehill
- Five tackles and three pressures when UMass visited UConn
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Zero sacks this season despite generating 20 pressures
- Carries far less weight than a typical edge defender
- A 2024 knee injury in Indiana's fall camp ended his season
- Has played for three different schools in four college seasons
- Nearly half of his pressures came in the Stonehill game
Scouting Report: Summary
DePaepe is a fast edge rusher who has earned a steady role at UMass after stops at Michigan State and Indiana. He has 20 pressures this season and played well at Rutgers and UConn. However, he has not turned that pressure into sacks, and nine of his pressures came against Stonehill. He is very light, and a knee injury wiped out his 2024 season.
Overall, DePaepe is an athletic but light edge rusher with limited finishing production. He projects as a priority free agent.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
