T.J. Moore grew up in Key West, Florida, and starred at Tampa Catholic High School, catching 42 passes for 1,021 yards and 12 scores as a junior and 50 for 1,272 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior. He rose to five-star status with several services, played in the All-American Bowl and was named On3's MVP of bowl week. His father, Terrance Sr., was an all-conference receiver at California University of Pennsylvania.Moore played in 14 games with nine starts as a true freshman at Clemson in 2024, catching 45 passes for 650 yards and five touchdowns. Dabo Swinney said in August 2025 that the game was slowing down for him and that his natural gifts were starting to show, and he started all 13 games in 2025, leading Clemson with 52 catches for 837 yards and four touchdowns and earning third-team All-ACC honors from Phil Steele. His breakout came against SMU, with five catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns.
Moore agreed to return to Clemson for 2026. Quarterback Christopher Vizzina started the first two games before true freshman Tait Reynolds took over, and Clemson has struggled to throw the ball. Moore passed 100 career catches and 1,500 yards in the opener at LSU and had seven catches for 103 yards and a touchdown against Georgia Southern. He has 33 catches for 304 yards and a touchdown in eight games for a 5-3 team, and he blocked on two touchdowns in the 36-24 win at Florida State.

Moore is a fast, smooth outside receiver who has started since his freshman season at Clemson. He led the team with 52 catches for 837 yards in 2025, gained 399 yards after the catch and dropped only two passes on 82 targets, and his five-catch, 124-yard, two-touchdown game against SMU showed his big-play ability. He has good speed, stretches defenses from a wide alignment and has passed 100 career catches and 1,500 yards.His 2026 season has been shaped by Clemson's quarterback situation. Christopher Vizzina started the first two games before true freshman Tait Reynolds took over, and Clemson has struggled to throw the ball.
