Draft Profile: Bio
Riley Williams from IMG Academy High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Williams opted to join Miami.

In 2023 as a freshman Williams saw action in 13 games for the Hurricanes as he made 8 receptions for only 72 yards for an average of 9.0 yards per reception, with one TD, and QB rating when targeted of 102.1. As a blocker he allowed one pressure and no sacks.

As a sophomore in 2024 he played 4 games and had only 3 catches for 55 yards for an average of 18.3 yards per catch, with no TDs, and an elite QB rating when targeted of 118.8. In pass protection he gave up one pressure and no sacks.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Good strength and effort to run through arm tackles.
  • A savvy, reliable pass catcher with good body control and focus. Soft hands and has the hand-eye coordination to secure wild throws.
  • Williams fights his way off the line of scrimmage against press coverage, showing quick, violent hands and good balance.
  • Has smooth body control, reliable hands and natural ball skills to adjust to off-target throws and make impressive catch.
  • Good short-area foot quickness with very good footwork.
  • Williams is a natural playmaker, at his best with the ball in his hands.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • And he’ll need to become a sharper route runner, especially on option routes, to create separation at the intermediate level.
  • Doesn't break many tackles or do enough after contact.
  • Doesn’t bring much suddenness or explosion as a mover, and he’ll often go down on first contact. Williams lacks physicality and is too often unable to come down with contested catches Williams should get his hands on.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
