Draft Profile: Bio
Peyton Bowen from Guyer High School was rated a 5-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Bowen opted to join Oklahoma after being heavily recruited.

In 2023 as a freshman Bowen saw action in 13 games and played a total of 363 snaps at safety for the Sooners. He recorded 24 tackles, 5 assists, while adding 4 stops. In coverage Bowen notched up 5 pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 91.1.

As a sophomore in 2024 he played in 4 games and logged 124 snaps for the Sooners. He made just 4 tackles, 4 assists, and had one stop. In coverage he totaled no pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 95.8.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • In the run game, he’s aggressive coming downhill and a sure tackler.
  • Has good football awareness to read and react quickly and stay balanced and patient in space.
  • Lean, athletic build with plenty of room for additional muscle mass. Legitimate NFL-caliber athlete.
  • Reads receivers' routes and anticipates throws at the first down marker. Covers a lot of ground in a hurry when in space. Reads the quarterback's eyes and sees the routes very quickly, then has straight-line speed to arrive with or just after the ball.
  • Flashes some physicality as a hitter.
  • Has enough speed and fluidity to come down and guard slot receivers and even some tight ends in man coverage.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Not an explosive player and needs to show better bend and flexibility in his drops - plays too high.
  • Isn’t great in route recognition when he’s facing the action, is hesitant and susceptible to double moves, and too often gets unnecessarily handsy when playing trail position
  • The majority of the time last season, Bowen was able to physically overwhelm opposing receivers early in the down, a scenario that won’t play out as often against NFL receivers.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
