Draft Profile: Bio
Mykel Williams from Hardaway High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 5-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Williams joined Georgia after being heavily recruited.

In 2022 as a freshman Williams saw action in 13 games and played a total of 349 snaps for the Bulldogs. He recorded 14 tackles, 3 assists, while adding 13 stops. As a pass rusher, he added 28 total pressures, which included 22 QB hurries, 2 QB hits, and 4 sacks on the season.

As a sophomore for the Bulldogs in 2023 Williams played in 13 games and took part in 381 snaps for the Bulldogs. He recorded 11 tackles, 6 assists, while adding 14 stops. As a pass rusher, he chalked up 26 total pressures, and 17 QB hurries, 3 QB hits, and 6 sacks during the year.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • A savvy, versatile and instinctive edge rusher who did a little bit of everything, Williams was especially effective getting to the quarterback.
  • Possesses accurate snap anticipation and timing to beat blockers off the edge.
  • He’s best right now against the run, playing with a low pad level despite his relatively tall frame, and he has the violent hands to win at the point of attack.
  • Possesses the length and power to ward off offensive tackles.
  • Williams has ideal length as an edge rusher, with room to add more weight onto his frame.
  • Quick off the snap in the pass rush, he has violent hands and a good feel for working inside counter moves.
  • His long limbs and strong core strength allow him to power through blockers, and he has the flexibility to loop inside and get home on twists.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Williams also shows some stiffness when trying to bend the edge, often getting pushed past the pocket — Williams seems more comfortable countering back inside.
  • He struggles to shed blockers and doesn’t show ideal lateral movement skills. Williams also needs to make better use of his length and hands in the pass rush.
  • Plays tall and gets upright off the snap. Wins with upper-body strength and needs to focus on leverage.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
