Draft Profile: Bio
Jordan Shipp won three state titles at Providence Day School in Charlotte, catching 173 passes for 2,934 yards and 37 touchdowns in his career. A four-star recruit who played in the All-American Bowl, he enrolled early at North Carolina.Shipp caught nine passes as a freshman in 2024 after a shoulder injury in camp. He was a starter in all 12 games in 2025 and led the Tar Heels with 60 catches, 671 yards and six touchdowns, earning honorable mention All-ACC. He chose to stay at North Carolina for 2026.
In 2026 he has 45 catches for 587 yards and three touchdowns, with a score in each of the last three games. He caught seven passes for 109 yards against Notre Dame and six for 93 in the 21-17 win at Pitt on 10 October. He added eight catches for 102 yards and a touchdown against Syracuse.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Strong hands in traffic, coming down with nine of 13 contested balls
- Seven catches for 109 yards against Notre Dame
- Moves between the slot and outside, and led North Carolina in catches in 2025
- Has scored a touchdown in each of the last three games
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Little after the catch, about 3.6 yards per reception
- Miami held him to 44 yards on four catches
- Separation against physical press coverage is limited at times
- Two drops this season, against TCU and Duke, plus a fumble at Duke
- Could stay at North Carolina for his senior season
Scouting Report: Summary
Shipp is a reliable, productive receiver who has been North Carolina's top option for two seasons. He wins in traffic, catches the ball away from his body and moves between the slot and the boundary, as his 109-yard game against Notre Dame showed. However, he adds little after the catch and does not separate easily from tight coverage. Miami kept him quiet, and he has had two drops and a fumble this season.
Overall, Shipp is a dependable possession receiver with good hands. He projects as a priority free agent should he come out, with time to add separation if he stays.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
