Draft Profile: Bio
Here's the revised bio, strengths and weaknesses, and conclusion for John Campbell Jr.:

John Campbell Jr. - OT, Tennessee

Sixth-year offensive tackle who transferred to Tennessee in 2023 after five seasons at Miami. Started nine games at left tackle for the Vols in 2023, allowing only one sack and one QB hit over 538 snaps before a lower body injury ended his season. Earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors against Kentucky.

At Miami, Campbell Jr. appeared in 34 games with 18 starts across multiple positions. Started all 12 games at left tackle in 2022, logging 763 snaps with a 97.2% blocking efficiency. Missed the entire 2021 season due to leg surgery. Made four starts in 2020 and two in 2019, playing both tackle spots and left guard. Redshirted in 2018 after seeing action in four games.

Three-star recruit out of Dr. Phillips High School in Florida, where he helped lead the team to its first-ever FHSAA football state title in 2017. Rated as the 19th-best offensive lineman nationally by Rivals.com. Transitioned to right tackle for his final collegiate season at Tennessee in 2024.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Battle-tested with 1,890 collegiate snaps, showcasing durability and consistent improvement trajectory
  • Positional flexibility to play both tackle spots and kick inside, enhancing his value as a potential swing lineman
  • Solid anchor in pass pro, rarely surrendering the edge and maintaining a clean pocket
  • Quick study who seamlessly integrated into Tennessee's up-tempo offense after transferring
  • High football IQ with the ability to recognize and pick up stunts and blitzes effectively
  • Nasty finisher in the run game, driving defenders off the ball and playing through the whistle
  • Technician who uses his hands well to control defenders and maintain leverage
  • Blue-collar mentality with a team-first approach, willingly adapting to new roles for the betterment of the unit
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Lacks elite athletic traits, potentially limiting his ceiling against top-tier edge rushers at the next level
  • Slightly undersized for an NFL tackle, may struggle with length against longer defenders
  • Can get overextended in his pass sets, leaving him vulnerable to inside counter moves
  • Medical red flags with a significant leg injury that sidelined him for an entire season
  • Limited experience on the right side heading into the draft, creating a steeper learning curve for RT transitions
Scouting Report: Summary
Campbell Jr.'s skill set aligns with zone-blocking schemes and up-tempo offenses. His quick feet and spatial awareness, honed in Tennessee's system, suit these schemes well. However, his below-average athleticism for the position may limit his effectiveness in pure man-blocking concepts.

His transition to right tackle is pivotal. A strong showing could elevate his draft stock, potentially pushing him into early Day 3 consideration. Conversely, struggles could relegate him to late-round status.

Campbell Jr.'s overall profile suggests a ceiling as a spot starter with swing tackle value. His pass protection skills outpace his run blocking, indicating he may be best suited for pass-heavy offenses.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
