Draft Profile: Bio
Jaquaize Pettaway from Langham Creek High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. After high school, Pettaway opted to join Oklahoma.

In 2023 as a freshman Pettaway saw action in 6 games for the Sooners as he made 11 receptions for just 70 yards for an average of 6.4 yards per reception, with no TDs, and an excellent QB rating when targeted of 91.0.

As a sophomore in 2024 he played 4 games and had just 3 catches for 79 yards for an average of 26.3 yards per catch, with no TDs, and an excellent QB rating when targeted of 95.8.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Shows good sense as a route runner and provides an enormous catch radius over the middle of the field. Pettaway has soft hands and uses his frame effectively to shield defenders, making him a major threat in the red zone.
  • Pettaway shows suddenness off the line of scrimmage and accelerates quickly, and his top-end speed is among the best in this draft.
  • He’s at his best working in space, showing the quickness and vision of a return specialist. His stop-start ability allows him to create initial separation.
  • Fluid athlete with explosive burst and speed to stretch the field and breeze past defenders. Has a quick first step and gets to top speed in a hurry.
  • He’s also a catch-and-run threat, a creative runner who has good vision in the open field; he’ll be an option to return kicks as well.
  • Has a knack for getting open and is a quarterback's best friend - passers just need to toss the ball in his area and he'll come down with it.
  • He’s coordinated with soft, reliable hands, and Pettaway shows the ability to adjust to balls thrown behind him, as well as a knack for digging out low throws.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Does not always use his hands to secure deep throws, allowing the ball into his pads and chest.
  • Pettaway doesn’t have the ability as a run blocker or the violent run-after-catch ability.
  • Pettaway really isn’t a guy who will create a lot of separation.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
