Draft Profile: Bio
Terry Bussey was the No. 1 athlete in the 2024 class and a five-star recruit at Timpson High School in Texas. Playing quarterback and defensive back, he threw for 5,981 yards, ran for 5,361, accounted for 169 touchdowns and made 24 interceptions in his career. He was Mr. Texas Football as a junior, a state champion in the triple jump and a district basketball MVP. His uncle, Domingo Bryant, was drafted by the Steelers in 1986.Bussey was used mostly as a returner across 12 games in 2024. He was banged up for much of 2025, catching 18 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown and averaging 23.4 yards a kick return, and he hurt his ankle in the spring of 2026.
Bussey caught seven passes for 92 yards and ran for a touchdown in the first two games of 2026. He then injured his right leg on the opening kickoff against Kentucky on 19 September, and his season was over.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Elite speed and explosiveness for a receiver his size
- Former five-star recruit who was the top athlete in his class
- Averaged 23.4 yards a kick return in 2025
- Caught seven of 10 targets for 92 yards before his injury
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Leg injury on the opening kickoff against Kentucky ended his season
- Dropped five passes in 2025 on only 29 targets
- Injury issues in all three of his college seasons
- Raw route runner who played quarterback in high school
- Only 25 catches over his last two seasons combined
Scouting Report: Summary
Bussey is one of the most gifted athletes in college football, a former five-star recruit with elite speed. He has been a dangerous returner and showed promise as a receiver early this season. However, he has been banged up in each college season, and his 2026 season ended on the opening kickoff against Kentucky. His route running is still raw, and five drops in 2025 raise questions about his hands.
Overall, Bussey has rare tools but little production and a new medical concern. He projects as a priority free agent and is expected back at Texas A&M in 2027.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
