Draft Profile: Bio
Ryan Coleman-Williams became the first sophomore to win Alabama Mr. Football in 2021, catching 88 passes for 1,641 yards and 24 touchdowns at Saraland High School, and he added 72 catches for 1,324 yards and 19 scores the next year. He also ran 10.49 in the 100 meters. A unanimous five-star recruit, he reclassified from the 2025 class to 2024 and enrolled at Alabama.

He caught 48 passes for 865 yards and eight touchdowns as a freshman, including 177 yards and a 75-yard game-winning score against Georgia, and earned AFCA second-team All-America and first-team All-SEC honors from the coaches. His 2025 season was uneven, with 49 catches for 689 yards and four touchdowns, a 165-yard, two-touchdown game against Wisconsin and 10 drops. Before 2026 he added his mother's surname and switched to No. 1, his Saraland number, calling it a hard reset.

Alabama named him a permanent captain in September. He had 130 yards against East Carolina and five catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns against South Carolina, and he has 23 catches for 415 yards and four touchdowns in six games. He played through a knee problem early in the season, and against Georgia on 10 October he hurt his leg and later suffered a head injury. He had arthroscopic surgery to repair a meniscus and missed the Tennessee and Texas A&M games.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Rare speed, with a top-tier forty and a 10.49 in the 100 meters
  • Averaging 18 yards a catch with four touchdowns in six games this season
  • Cleaned up his hands this fall, with one drop on 34 targets
  • Dangerous after the catch, with 190 yards after the catch this season
  • Made a 75-yard game-winning touchdown against Georgia as a freshman
  • Aligns outside or in the slot and creates easy separation off the line
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Knee surgery and a head injury have cost him the last two games
  • Dropped 10 passes in 2025, so the hands remain a question
  • Slight frame can be rerouted by physical press corners
  • Contested catches are a struggle, with three wins on seven chances this season
Scouting Report: Summary
Coleman-Williams is one of the most explosive receivers in the class, a sprinter with rare speed who separates easily and turns short throws into long gains. He made his name as a 17-year-old freshman with the game-winning touchdown against Georgia, and in 2026 he has looked like that player again, averaging 18 yards a catch with four touchdowns in six games. He has also lined up mostly outside this season after playing heavily in the slot in 2025, showing he can win from either spot.

The biggest change this fall has been the hands. After 10 drops in 2025, he has one on 34 targets this season, and he has added 190 yards after the catch. He was voted a permanent captain, and Kalen DeBoer said in the spring that after a good step in 2025 his game had moved to another level. His reset, a new name and his old high school number, has carried onto the field.

However, the medical file has become a concern. He played through a knee problem early in the season, then hurt his leg and suffered a head injury against Georgia, had arthroscopic surgery to repair a meniscus and missed the Tennessee and Texas A&M games. His frame is slight, physical press corners can reroute him, and he has won three of seven contested catches this season. Teams will also weigh the 2025 drops against this year's improvement. He has missed two games, and Alabama has not given a return date.

Overall, Coleman-Williams has the speed and separation to be a dangerous slot or flanker in a spread offense. He projects as a second-round receiver with first-round traits, with the ceiling of a big-play starter if he stays healthy and the hands hold. His 2024 season, with 865 yards and eight touchdowns as a 17-year-old, remains the clearest example of his ceiling.
Update - 11/03/2026

Coleman-Williams left the Georgia game on 10 October with a head injury, then had arthroscopic surgery on a meniscus injury he had been playing through. He missed Tennessee and Texas A&M and is week-to-week. He has 23 catches for 415 yards and four touchdowns in six games.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
