Draft Profile: Bio
Rico Scott caught 86 passes for 1,353 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior at Bishop McDevitt in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, after helping the school win a PIAA Class 4A title the year before. A unanimous four-star recruit, he chose Alabama over Penn State, Auburn, Georgia and Texas A&M.Scott caught five passes and a touchdown during his 2024 redshirt year. Across 15 appearances in 2025 he made three starts and caught 11 balls for 98 yards and two scores. A January 2026 report said he was entering the portal, yet he changed his mind inside 24 hours.
Scott beat out Derek Meadows for the third receiver job and has 28 catches for 434 yards and three touchdowns. He scored twice when Alabama routed Mississippi State 56-23 on the road, and his biggest game was six catches for 156 yards against Texas A&M. Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb praised his decision to stay.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Caught six passes for 156 yards against Texas A&M
- Scored two touchdowns in the rout of Mississippi State in Starkville
- Won half of his 10 contested targets this season
- Steady route runner who has caught 28 passes in eight games
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Dropped passes in three straight games against Mississippi State, Georgia and Tennessee
- Average speed that limits his separation on deep routes
- Georgia held him to two catches for 28 yards
- Managed just 11 receptions as a part-time starter in 2025
- Limited yards after the catch apart from the Texas A&M game
Scouting Report: Summary
Scott is a dependable, physical receiver who beat out Derek Meadows for a starting spot. He wins contested catches and posted 156 yards against Texas A&M.However, his speed is middling, and he dropped passes in three straight games in October. His 2025 output was modest, with 11 catches.
Overall, Scott is a reliable possession receiver who is still improving. He projects as a priority free agent with eligibility left to build his stock.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
