Draft Profile: Bio
Loghan Thomas was part of a Class 5A title team at Paetow High School in Katy, Texas, as a 2021 sophomore before transferring to St. Edward in Ohio, which claimed a state championship in 2023. He was clocked at roughly 11 seconds over 100 meters and held offers from Georgia, Oklahoma and USC as a four-star recruit. His father, Jayson, played football at Youngstown State.

Thomas appeared 15 times during his debut 2024 season and recorded a sack of Indiana's quarterback in the College Football Playoff. Over 2025 he logged only 39 defensive snaps, but his blocked punt against Texas A&M was taken back for a score, and a concussion sidelined him for the October meeting with USC.

Thomas has been part of Notre Dame's edge rotation this season. He has two sacks, against Michigan State and at Purdue, and he made a career-high four tackles against Stanford, though BYU found the end zone against him in a coverage drop.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Rare burst and straight-line speed for a defensive end
  • Sacked the quarterback against Michigan State and at Purdue
  • Recorded a sack against Indiana in the College Football Playoff
  • Blocked a Texas A&M punt that the Irish returned for a score
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Slender frame leaves him well short of typical NFL edge weight
  • Plays only about 18 snaps a game in a rotation
  • Allowed a BYU touchdown while dropping into coverage
  • Missed the 2025 USC game while recovering from a concussion
  • Only 39 defensive snaps in the entire 2025 season
Scouting Report: Summary
Thomas is a speedy, twitchy pass rusher who produces in limited snaps. He has two sacks this season plus one in the College Football Playoff, and his burst is a genuine asset.

However, he lacks the bulk of a typical edge defender and averages fewer than 20 snaps per game. He missed time with a concussion in 2025, and BYU exposed him in coverage this year.

Overall, Thomas is an unfinished, athletic pass rusher who must get stronger. He projects as a priority free agent with more time likely at Notre Dame.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
