Draft Profile: Bio
Kerry Brown was a three-year starter at Naples High School in Florida, making 225 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and three interceptions. He chose Minnesota over Duke, Louisville, Maryland and Vanderbilt.Brown redshirted in 2023 after playing in five games. In 2024 he made nine starts with 63 tackles and two interceptions and reached the semifinal list for a national freshman of the year award. He started all 13 games in 2025, making 56 tackles and two more interceptions, and was an All-Big Ten honorable mention pick. P.J. Fleck has said he practices hard and is an unbelievable person.
Brown announced his return to Minnesota on 23 December 2025. He has made 48 tackles in eight games this season, including nine at Purdue, but he has missed nine tackles and given up three touchdowns, two of them against Mississippi State. Against Michigan he had six tackles and a pass breakup.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Productive tackler with 48 tackles in eight games this season
- Made nine tackles in the October game at Purdue
- Four interceptions over the 2024 and 2025 seasons
- Fluid athlete who can turn and run with receivers
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Missed nine tackles this season, three in the opener
- Gave up two touchdown catches to Mississippi State in September
- No interceptions this year after four over the previous two
- Slender build for a safety who is asked to tackle in the box
- Washington scored on him in September as well
Scouting Report: Summary
Brown is a productive, experienced safety who has started for Minnesota for three seasons. He is a willing tackler, with nine stops at Purdue, and his four interceptions over the last two seasons show good hands. However, he does not always finish, with nine misses this season, while three touchdowns have come in his coverage. His slender build is also a concern, and the interceptions have dried up in 2026.
Overall, Brown is a smart, productive safety with limited physical tools. He projects as a priority free agent with special teams value.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
